A lot of people discover the name of our congregation and think, "Man, that's a strange name for a church!  I wonder what it means?" To us, the name Encounter is all about creating environments where people can experience an authentic meeting with the Creator of the universe.  We believe that God is the most awesome reality in the world and that once we've had an encounter with Him, everything changes! 

See, it's not about having an encounter with a church or a religion.  A lot of us have already had that ... we've grown up in the church or synagogue or the mosque.  We've been exposed to a certain stream of religious thought or practice.  Yet at the end of the day, our life is still the same.  We're still left wrestling with the big (and the small!) questions of life and searching for answers that seem far too elusive.

Yet for us at Encounter, we're convinced those answers can be found, but only in one Person - Jesus Christ!  So if you've had enough of religion / church as you've known it and you're hungering for something more, come and encounter God with us.  You'll be glad that you did!
